OC://WebConnect's multi-tiered security approach encompasses four majorlevels of the computing environment paradigm: Application, Session,Data, and Host. The Session level of security is exclusive toOC://WebConnect Gold's Patent Pending SNA-WWW implementation. Usingstandards-based Java technology and the persistent SNA communicatoin linkto the host, over the inter/intranet. This connection ensures that noone can "break into" or be "connected to" an existing current session.Standard HTML to SNA products use a series of independent HTML forms todisplay successive screens. These implementations are modeled afterinternet "transactions" rather than SNA "sessions". OpenConnect's methodensures users a secure application that does not allow unauthorized usersto connect to another user's session. The Transport level implementationis encrypted using RSA Data Security encryption between the clientdesktop and the OC://WebConnect Server. While Application security ishandled by traditional inter/intranet security methods, such as Webserver-based user ID and password, or firewalls, host security isprovided by traditional mainframe security like TopSecret, RACF, ACF2,etc.. This multi-tier approach ensures a complete, secure session over apotentially unsecure internet.
